Mekia Cox had made cameos in a number of TV shows before “Undercovers,” including “CSI: NY,” “Half & Half,” and “One Tree Hill.” She also appeared in the 2011 romantic comedy-drama movie “Crazy, Stupid, Love.”
A big turning point in Cox’s career was her involvement in the This Is It concert series. She was picked as one of the 11 dance group members out of more than 500 applicants. She danced beside Michael Jackson during the rehearsing of “The Way You Make Me Feel” in the documentary “Michael Jackson’s This Is It,” demonstrating her talent and commitment.
