Manuel V. Pangilinan, commonly known as Manny Pangilinan and MVP, is a Filipino businessman who was born on July 14, 1946 in Manila, Philippines. From 1998 until the present, he has served as Chairman of the Philippine Long Distance Telephone Company. He is also the Chairman of TV5, Philex Mining, and Metro Pacific Investments Corporation, among other companies (MPIC). Pangilinan attended San Beda College for elementary and secondary school. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Economics with honours from the Ateneo de Manila University. In 1968, he graduated from the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School with an MBA.
