Alex Thomas is an English drummer who presently plays with Squarepusher and John Cale. He was born in Lutterworth, Leicestershire. At the age of 19, he joined Bolt Thrower on August 21, 1997. He played drums on Mercenary and the Into The Killing Zone tour before leaving the band in 2000 owing to a lack of interest in Bolt Thrower’s musical approach. He’s also played with Badly Drawn Boy, Groop Dogdrill, New Young Pony Club, Bat For Lashes, and Fridge, and released the album Two Rooms (Full of Insects) on the Invisible Spies record label under the name Earl Shilton. In preparation of her support role on Radiohead’s European tour in 2008, Natasha Khan revealed the new Bat For Lashes live line-up on May 29, 2008. Alex Thomas is a member of “The Blue Dreams.”
